Star delays £7.2m contract again as Manchester United wait to hear of title clause outcome
Samir Handanovic has reportedly delayed singing a new contract at Inter
SAMIR HANDANOVIC has yet again delayed signing a new contract at Inter as negotiations over the deal extend into a sixth month.
 
Goalkeeper Handanovic, 31, has been deliberating over Inter's offer since May and has already negotiated a pay rise to £1.8million a season.
He is expected to sign the four-year contract before 2015 is out and in doing so reject reported interest from Manchester United and Roma in his signature.
But in another twist Gazzetta dello Sport claim Handanovic has demanded a title clause be added to the deal.
The goalkeeper signed for Inter from Udinese in 2012 and is yet to win a trophy at the San Siro.
He wants a bonus if Inter, who currently share the lead at the top of Serie A, win the league title.
The Slovenia international was one of a number of options supposedly open to United manager louis van Gaal had David De tea completed a transfer to Real Madrid in the summer.
 
De Gea was all set to join the club before the season began but that move broke down, while a paperwork delay on deadline day scuppered a second attempt to get the switch complete.
And, while Spaniard De Gea signed a new four-year contract at Old Trafford in September, Real president Florentino Perez is expected to bid again for the stopper after making a "promise" to club supporters.
Gazzetta claim Handanovic's first priority is to remain at Inter but should the club fail to agree to his clause demands then a transfer may happen this January as his contract, which expires in 2017, runs down further.
