Nintendo NX: Is the Resident Evil franchise ready to make its Nintendo console return?

THE Nintendo NX could see the return of another major games developer who has revealed they are working on several new technologies.
 
By far the most successful title from Capcom to appear on a Nintendo platform in recent times was Resident Evil 4, a short-lived exclusive that changed the series forever.
First appearing on the Gamecube before being ported to PlayStation and the Wii, Capcom saw their franchise rejuvenated before hitting another slump with the release of Resident Evil 6.
It now seems the Japanese developer might be ready to return to a Nintendo console, following new comments made during a recent Q&A with investors.
 
Capcom have revealed that they are currently working on different types of hardware and when asked specifically asked about the Nintendo NX and PlayStation VR, they insisted they had nothing to announce as of this time.
"Our R&D operations are working on technologies for many types of hardware. We will consider the possibility of creating technology demonstrations and making versions of titles under development for these new platforms,” it was confirmed.
"At this time, we have not announced any plans for specific products or the timing of a product launch."
The Nintendo Wii U has been devoid of major support from big outside developers for quite sometime, with the the company unwilling to discuss anything more on the Nintendo NX update until 2016.
It follows the news that Electronic Arts are also ready to evaluate their relationship with Nintendo and whatever platform opportunities that are set to be offered.
EA CEO Andrew Wilson failed to confirm any plans to support Nintendo's new platform but alluded strongly to supporting core digital platforms.
EA stopped supporting Nintendo's latest console, the Wii U in 2013, which has managed to sell just over 10 million units since its launch in 2012.
