Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 given Xbox 360 and PS3 update as Amazon reveal midnight launch

Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 given Xbox 360 and PS3 update as Amazon reveal midnight launch
Black Ops 3 has been given an update on Xbox 360 and PS3
CALL of Duty: Black Ops 3 has been given an update on PS3 and Xbox 360 by Activision, while Amazon have unveiled their plans to deliver the game to doors at midnight.

Fans on last-gen consoles have already been told that they will miss out on the November 6 release’s campaign mode and Season Pass, leaving just Zombies mode and multiplayer.
Even in these areas, however, the game is set to be limited.
Some of the game’s new features are set to be exclusive to the Xbox One, PS4 and PC, including the Weapon Paint Shop and eSports CODCasting and Theatre tools.
Players will also miss out on The Giant bonus map for Zombies mode, which looks set to leak into the game’s overall Shadows of Evil storyline.

Call of Duty's eSports tools are not available on last-gen consoles
A new update has been supplied via the game’s last-gen FAQ supplied by Activision, revealing that the game is set to be limited to 30 FPS in Zombies mode, while multiplayer will scale from 30 to 60 FPS.
DLC content for the game, four packs are planned for release, will also be limited on the earlier systems.
“Season Pass will be available only on PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC platforms,” the FAQ reveals.
“Availability of individual DLC packs for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 platforms may vary.  More information will be announced at a later date.”
It follows the news that online retailer Amazon plans to deliver Black Ops 3 to Prime Now members for free  at midnight on Friday November 6.
Amazon say that release night pre-orders must be placed using the Prime Now app with reservations starting at midnight eastern standard time on November 4, it appears the special delivery options are only available in the United States.
“Customers will be able to choose a special delivery window, select additional items they might need for their late night mission -- such as beverages, snacks or extra gaming controllers -- and pre-order the game for late night delivery on its release night, Nov. 6,” a message from Amazon confirms.
“There is limited availability within each delivery window so customers are urged to download the Prime Now app and be ready to reserve their delivery on Nov. 4 at midnight eastern when pre-orders begin in the app.
“Prime Now is currently offered in Atlanta, Austin, Baltimore, Chicago, Dallas, Houston, Indianapolis, Las Vegas, Los Angeles, Manhattan, Miami, Minneapolis, Orange County, Phoenix, Portland, Sacramento, San Antonio, San Francisco, San Jose, and Seattle. For these special, late night Call of Duty: Black Ops III two-hour delivery windows, there will be no delivery fees.”

Black Ops 3: Activision REVEAL update on Wii U, Xbox 360 and PS3 Call of Duty

Black Ops 3: Activision REVEAL update on Wii U, Xbox 360 and PS3 Call of Duty
Black Ops 3 has been confirmed for Xbox 360 and PS3, with no Wii U version planned for release
TREYARCH and Activision have revealed more on the fate of Call of Duty: Black Ops III on the Xbox 360, Wii U and PS3.

UPDATE: Activision have officially announced the release of Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 on Xbox 360 and PS3 today.
Developers Beenox and Mercenary Technology are in charge of bringing the next COD to the older generation of consoles, the publisher has confirmed.
The game will appear on the Xbox 360 and PS3 because Activision are aware that many fans have yet buy an Xbox One or PS4.
Difference between the titles will include a two-player co-op story mode, while other features and functionality built specifically for the new generation of consoles that cannot be supported on Xbox 360 and PS3 will also be pulled.
And unfortunately, there will be no Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 for Nintendo fans on Wii U.
A statement from communications manager Scott Lowe explained: "Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 has been designed to harness the full potential of the Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC. However, we know that there are still some fans that haven’t made the transition to the new console hardware, which is why we’re happy to share that we're working with developers Beenox and Mercenary Technology on Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 for the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3.
"Xbox 360 and PS3 players will be able to experience Call of Duty: Black Ops 3’s gameplay across campaign, multiplayer and zombies. While the teams are working to deliver the best possible experience for Xbox 360 and PS3, naturally there will be some differences across generations.
"For instance, the campaign mode on Xbox 360 and PS3 is currently in development with a goal of enabling two-player cooperative play, instead of the four-player cooperative campaign on next-gen.
"There will also be some other features and functionality built specifically for the new generation of consoles that cannot be supported on Xbox 360 and PS3. We'll be sharing more information regarding feature differences from one console generation to another later this year as launch on November 6 approaches.
"Also, it should be noted that there's no version of Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 for Nintendo Wii U planned."
ORIGINAL: Activision look to have dropped another hint this week over a possible release for Call of Duty: Black Ops III on Wii U.
Nintendo ID's can now be connected to the Call of Duty website, leading to speculation that the game will launch on the Nintendo console.
And the Activision Support Twitter account may have dropped a further hint at a Black Ops 3 Wii U port after replying to a fan asking about the new Nintendo ID option.
Q. Why we can connect our Nintendo IDs to the Call of Duty site if you are not developing nothing for it?
Activision Support response: "Hey there. Stay tuned for more Wii U releases."
Q. won't bother buying it if you're not going to treat it the same as other formats.
Activision Support response: "Don't have info on future/nonexistent/unreleased titles, thank you for your interest."
Call of Duty: Black Ops II was launched for the console in 2012 and while there have been no official announcements regarding release on Xbox 360, PS3 and Wii U, it would seem unlikely that these markets would be missed out entirely.
UPDATE April 28: A new listing has been spotted that may confirm the release of Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 on PS3 and Xbox 360.
Dutch online retailer BOL.com reportedly listed the new COD title for both last-gen consoles, including box art and gallery pictures before they were taken down.
The game was allegedly priced as much as the PS4 and Xbox One versions of the game and included the same launch date of November 6, 2015.
The listing has since been taken down.
Treyarch have made it clear that they are solely focused on developing Black Ops 3 for the PS4, Xbox One and PC only, meaning any version published on the Xbox 360 and PS3 would have to come from a separate studio.
Activision and Treyarch also announced  a multiplayer Beta for Call of Duty: Black Ops III,  Fans who pre-order the game now on Xbox One, PlayStation 4 or PC will get access to the Beta, details will be announced at a later date.

ORIGINAL: Fans have been waiting to learn more about the next instalment in the COD franchise since the first teaser trailer was launched earlier this year.
The world reveal of Black Ops III has helped shine more light on the upcoming title, including the 2060 setting.
And during a preview event Studio Head Mark Lamia revealed more on the PS4, Xbox One and PC versions of the game.
"There are no ‘ports’. The game is made on multiple platforms, it’s the beginning of a new generation and we’re showing it to you on all these platforms, to dispel some of the misconceptions about development," he said.
And while Black Ops 3 has been confirmed  on the new-gen platforms, Lamia added that Treyarch were focused only on those platforms.
“We’re working on Xbox One, PS4 and PC. That’s it," Lamia said.
Activision meanwhile has said that it has no further platform announcements to make at this time.
It could mean a second developer is now heading up projects for the PS3 and Xbox 360, much like what was done with Call of DutyL Advanced Warfare in 2014.
There could even be a chance of Black Ops III coming to the Wii U at a later date, after Call of Duty: Ghosts was developed separately from Infinity Ward in 2013.
